Абстракт: This paper describes a methodology for selection of feed electric drives for turning machines with digital program control. The offered algorithm renders an account of the specific features of the technological process, the processed material, as well as the type of the mechanical gear used. Concrete examples have been presented, illustrating the practical application of this methodology. The research held as well as the results obtained can be used in the development of such electric drives for the studied class of machine tools.
