Title: MODELING OF POWER CONVERTERS IN MICROGRIDS
Keywords: microgrids, modeling, distributed generation, conversion, el

Abstract: This paper presents the modeling of a microturbine-based system for distributed connected to a three-phase low voltage grid. The developed mathematical model includes a primary mover coupled to the shaft of a permanent magnet synchronous generator with a rated power of 30 kVA. The electronic conversion system consists of a three-phase PWM rectifier and a grid-connected inverter. The undesirable harmonic content is filtered by and LCL filter. The presented model is implemented in Matlab/Simulink environment. Simulation results confirm the correct operation of the model and the power converters control system. The developed model can be used as a building block in larger models including multiple types of generators, energy storage devices and loads.
