Title: Automatic Calculation of Parameters in Linear Passive One-ports, synthezed by Brune’s Method and its Applications
Keywords: Brune’s method, one-port linear passive electric circuits, transfer impedance/admittance with multiple poles, two-terminals networks, zeros

Abstract: To synthesize a linear passive one-port by a desired transfer function, it is sufficient to transform it in such a way that a new lower-order transfer function is obtained as a result. In the general case, in the presence of real, complex conjugate and/or multiple poles and zeros, Brune's algorithm is applied. The methods of Cauer and Foster are a particular case of Brune's algorithm and apply to the synthesis of passive one-ports when the transfer function contains single poles and zeros. In the present work, a linear passive RLC one-port based on two inductively coupled coils has been synthesized using Brune's algorithm. A procedure for calculating the values of the passive elements in the resulting one-port is proposed. It is based on Brune's algorithm and software implemented in Matlab. Some applications of the generated one-port in real circuits are also discussed. The usefulness of this simplified representation for complex linear circuits with a single power source is discussed.
