Abstract: VPLS (Virtual Private LAN Service) protocol is the most effective and the fastest enterprise solution for building direct connectivity between remote offices, located in different parts of a city or different cities in a single corporate network. Using ONOS and Mininet allows simulating VPLS networks without the need for expensive hardware. The purpose of this work is to discuss the technologies used for simulating a VPLS networks and the process of creating and experimenting with VPLS in Mininet and ONOS.
