Title: Piezo-Photosensor from Rochelle Salt and Bromophenol Blue Layer
Keywords: Bromophenol blue, piezo photo, piezotronics, Rochelle salt, sensor

Abstract: Following the new trends in the development of sensors that respond to multiple environmental stimuli, a piezo-photodiode with layers of aluminum (AI)/ Rochelle salt (RS) + Bromophenol blue (BPhB) / indium-tin-oxide (ITO)/ Glass was fabricated. A mixture of piezo Rochelle salt and photosensitive Bromophenol blue was prepared and deposited on an aluminum substrate by electrophoresis. Then, the modulus d33= 148 pC/N of the piezo-photosensitive layer was measured. Additionally, ITO/Glass was mounted on the piezo-photolayer and the diode is irradiated with light. When irradiated with 2 mW/cm2 and applied with a voltage from - 3V to +3V, a typical diode I-V characteristic was obtained and a photocurrent from -8.4 nA to +15.6 nA was measured. After simultaneous irradiation and application of a mechanical cyclic force of 0.1 N, peaks and modulation of the photocurrent are observed, i.e. the structure can be used as a base for making a cheap sensor for detecting two environmental stimuli.
