Title: Modular wave digital approach: methodology review and application on Wilkinson-type power dividers
Keywords: Digital circuits, digital signal processing, digital twins, microwave devices, wave digital framework, Wilkinson power divider

Abstract: Published by Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.Wave digital (WD) filter theory represents a powerful approach for modeling various physical systems. The WD framework, based on this theory, offers the ability to create digital models of planar microstrip circuits. This article presents a general theoretical background and summarizes the latest updates on the advanced transmission line-based WD modeling approach. The article contributes to a wider study of microwave circuits by introducing a model for the resistor connected in series for the first time, and applying the model to a WD simulation of various Wilkinson-type power dividers, which are the most useful power divider structures for advanced radio-frequency (RF)/microwave communication systems. The study also reviews the background issues regarding the WD realization of circuit models and their applications.
