Title: Study of Mental Workload when Solving an Individual Cognitive Task Using Part of a Hybrid System for Non-Invasive Brain-Computer Interface
Keywords: Cognitive task, Mental workload, Non-invasive brain-computer interface

Abstract: This study examines mental workload during an individual cognitive task using part of a hybrid non-invasive brain-computer interface (BCI) system. The current setup includes infrared thermography and pulse oximetry (SpO2 and pulse rate). Participants completed a standardized task while data were continuously recorded. The analysis reveals correlations between surface temperature variations, cardiovascular indicators, and levels of mental workload. These findings indicate that the tools used can be successfully applied to study mental load when solving an individual cognitive task as part of a hybrid non-invasive brain-computer interface system.
