Title: Idle Running Losses in Medium Voltage Overhead Power Lines

Abstract: The article examines the issue of Idle Running Losses in Medium Voltage Overhead Power Lines. Experimental measurements are performed. Based on the results of the measurements, a convenient empirical model is proposed for the calculation of transversal (conductance) losses during the operation of the distribution overhead power lines. Numerical examples are presented, and important implications are discussed.
