Абстракт: Софтуерният пакет NEMO позволява разработката на изчисления свързани сокеанологията. Тази научна област изисква мощни изчислителни ресурси за изследванена големи групи от данни, даващи числени решения за динамиката на океаните, заледниците (sea-ice модел) и биогеохимията на океаните. В статията са представенирезултати от тестване и мащабиране на софтуерния пакет НЕМО за конфигурацияORCA. Направена е оценка на паралелната производителност на базата наекспериментални симулации проведени на хетерогенен компютърен клъстер в лабораторията по Високопроизводителни компютърни системи и ГРИД технологии къмкатедра Компютърни Системи, Технически Университет – София.

    Abstract: NEMO (Nucleus for European Modeling of the Ocean) is a software package, which allows execution of complex computations related to oceanology. This scientific area requires powerful computing resources for investigation of large data sets, giving numerical solutions of the ocean dynamics, sea-ice model and ocean biogeochemistry. The paper presents the results of testing and scaling of NEMO software package for the case study of ORCA configuration. An evaluation of parallel performance is conducted, based on experimental simulations on heterogeneous computer cluster in the laboratory of High Performance Computer Systems and Grid Technology at the Department of Computer Systems, Technical University - Sofia.
