Title: Power Control of PMSG for Wind Turbine Using Maximum Torque per Ampere Strategy

Abstract: The paper deals with implementation of maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) control strategy for a permanent magnet synchronous generator as a part of a wind energy conversion system (WESC). The variable speed wind turbines require appropriate control of the generator power, toque and speed in order to maximize the energy production under varying wind speed using appropriate MPPT algorithms. The power electronic converter is used to control the generator current and consequently – its torque and speed. Thus, allowing to adjust the operating point of the turbine in the maximum of the power curve for the current speed of the wind.
