Abstract: In order to maintain and improve your position on international markets, the firms strive to maintain high quality of their products and ensure compliance with the requirements of harmonized standards. Achieving this condition can be facilitated if at each of the lifecycle’s stages of the products the essential safety requirements of the European directives are respected. Conformity assessment may cover the stage of product design, the manufacturing stage or the both. This paper examines the need of creating an information concept that refers to the different stages of the CAD design process to the regulatory framework on which they must respond. There is a major problem in the design process that the requirements for the product or its individual components are scattered across multiple directives and harmonized standards. The designer needs to make inquiries to the applicable documents and determine which of these requirements are relevant to the particular product. Due to the large
