Abstract: This paper presents a model of photovoltaic system in the Matlab/Simulink environment for simulation of different shadings and diode protection for educational purposes. The aim is to illustrate the influence of the shading on the performances of the photovoltaic modules and to estimate the effect of different types of diode protections. Thus the students' education is improved and their capacity - increased.
