Title: Development of a Hybrid Asynchronous Radial Electrical Machine
Keywords: asynchronous; generator; hybrid; motor; virtual prototyping

Abstract: The aim of the study is to modify an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system consisting of a radial asynchronous electric motor/generator connected to a kinetic energy accumulator (a flywheel) in such a way that the stator windings of the electrical machine are kept excited when the flywheel is in a condition in which it rotates freely and the electric machine consumes the energy accumulated in it. This modification is realized in the rotor package of the asynchronous electric machine with the insertion of prismatic permanent neodymium magnets with perpendicular magnetization of the surface, located at 180 degrees in two rows in the rotor package. This helps with the reduction of the switching time between motor and generator mode in the event of a power outage.
