Autors: Marinov, T. M. Title: Comparative analysis of technologies to construct vehicles ad-hoc networks Keywords: Manet, Vanet, ITS, routing protocols Abstract: Manet and Vanet are networks, which are used for wireless communication. Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANETs) consists of devices, which configured in independent network alone. Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANET) is a subclass of Mobile ad hoc networks (Manet) which provides a distinguished approach for Intelligent Transport System (ITS). The research of routing protocols in Vanet is important and necessary for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). This report discusses the advantages / disadvantages and the applications of various routing protocols for vehicular ad hoc networks. It explores the motivation behind the designed, and traces the evolution of these routing protocols. Finally the report concludes by a tabular comparison of the various routing protocols for VANET.
