Abstract: The paper describes a methodology to determine the energy yield of photovoltaic system with different possible orientations that cover a large spectrum of building shapes. The methodology consists in the conversion of the horizontal solar irradiation into irradiation on the panels’ surface and the use of modified Durisch’s model. The methodology allows taking into account the influence of the PV technology and the meteorological conditions. The methodology is applied to various sites in the Northern Hemisphere using idealized and real data for the solar irradiation and the ambient temperature, for different PV technologies. Finally, the methodology results are compared with experimental data for one of the sites.
