Abstract: The present paper studies the wide load range operation of a Phase-Shift Controlled Series Resonant DC/DC Converter (PSC-SRC) operating above the resonant frequency. Extension of the converter ZVS range is achieved through the application of an external inductive circuit. A design procedure for the external inductor is proposed. The results from the analysis are confirmed with computer simulations.
