Title: Face recognition using infrared images

Abstract: The current article examines an approach for face recognition based on thermal imaging methods and Matlab image processing. Images of persons, captured with an infrared camera, are submitted to filtration and morphological operations in order to extract the contours of the face and determine the blood vessels of the captured person. The aim of this article is to describe the main problems encountered in this approach to face recognition systems.
