Title: Design Modifications in Electrospinning Setup for Medical Patches
Keywords: electrospinning , microfabrication , nanofibres , nozzles ,

Abstract: The electrospinning process is particularly very suitable for obtaining biologically active and protective mats from nanofibers, as it involves neither coagulation chemistry nor higher temperatures. The construction of the chamber in which the process takes place, applied voltage and collecting distance are also important to electrospinning process and fibers morphology. The collector has a significant effect on the productivity and arrangement of the nanofibers and the final structure. In standard designs with single-nozzle electrospinning, the collector is usually stationary. It has been developed a new design of the system of electrospinning with a movable collector, designed for direct deposition of nanofibers on narrow medical strips intended for the production of protective medical patches. The mass and the thickness of the nanofibres mats, air and vapour permeability of new two-layer product, at a speed of movement of the transport lane of 3 mm/min were studied.
