Title: Influence of the pole shapes on the force characteristics of a DC solenoid actuator Keywords: 3D magnetic fields; solenoid actuators; shapes of the poles; Abstract: This paper presents the results from a numerical study of the force characteristics of a DC solenoid actuator with three different shapes of the poles: a truncated cone, a cylindrical stepped shape and a flat shape. 3D computer models have been synthesized for the purpose in the software product ANSYS Maxwell, with the help of which the force characteristics at different supply voltages have been obtained. Comparison has been made with experimental data. References
