Title: Comparison of the Time Mutability and the Correlation-Extremal Methods for Stohastic Objects Drift Velocity Measurements Keywords: correlation-extremal method; time mutability method; drift v Abstract: The correlation-extremal method and the time mutability method for measurement the stochastic fields drift velocity are applied. A procedure for modeling two types of signals, corresponding to the radiometric sounding of moving cloud field is suggested. The first one: one-dimensional signals, describing observation with infrared radiometer of non-homogeneous cloud field moving with constant drift velocity without time evolution. The second one: one-dimensional signals, describing the observation of non-stationary and non-homogeneous objects, constructed accounting for the possibility to present the meteorological field time evolution as a superposition of traveling plane waves. On their basis the possibilities and the accuracy of both methods are compared. Numerical examples, illustrated by graphic material, have been shown. References Issue
