Абстракт: Conceptualization of digital minimalism is discussed in this paper – a new term that appeared in 2019. The intention is to define the phenomenon and consider its chances to be a stopper or regulator of our occasions today, when digital connectivity is about to become our primary social reality. Proposed interpretation is in the perspective of moral philosophy and applied ethics, and a problematizing the reasonable restrictions of using ICT in comparison with the so-called hungry (restrictive) digital diet is offered. A critical reflection on minimalism and the ethics of minimalism is developed as a limitation that became necessary when the narrative of techno-maximalism has already been exhausted. Apart from being philosophical, digital minimalism is also seen as behavior that requires regulation, as well as rules and advice. Digital minimalism today is becoming an important but neglected component of digital competence.
