Abstract: The introduction of LEDs in office lighting is often done in the easiest possible way - with cosine light distribution of the luminaires. This leads to some issues - the glare rating and the efficiency of luminaires are far from the possible maximum. The unified glare rating is calculated in general by taking into account the entire surface of a luminaire. In LED applications the light emitting surface is with much smaller size. The problem for optimal light distribution of LED office luminaires is discussed in the paper.
