Title: Tribological Investigations of Tribosystems During Lubrication Using Vegetable Oils and Mineral-Vegetable Oil Composites Containing Metal-Plating Additive. Part I: Friction
Keywords: tribology, biodegradable lubricants, friction, self-organiza

Abstract: The object of the present work is a comparative study of the friction and wear characteristics in tribosystems when lubricated with biodegradable plant-based oils and combined with mineral oils, looking for opportunities to improve them with a multifunctional metal-plating additive. Three types of oils were studied: 100% biodegradable vegetable oil (Bio-DM), conventional mineral oil (HLP) and a mineral-vegetable composition including conventional mineral oil and 35% sunflower oil (HLP-S). The results of the study will be published in two parts. The first part presents the results of the friction characteristics in a tribosystem, which is a unit of rolling bearings. The results of density, dynamic viscosity were obtained and the viscosity-temperature characteristics of three types of oils were constructed.
