Abstract: This paper represents comparative tribological studies of a hypereutectic aluminum- silicon alloy AlSi18, without or with different types of modifiers – a standard modifier P, nanomodifiers SiC and diamond ND, as well as combinations of them – under the mode of dry friction on a surface with rigidly fixed abrasive particles. Results have been obtained concerning the wear characteristics – mass wear, wear intensity and wear resistance for different number of friction cycles. Results about the microstructure and the mechanical characteristics of the studied samples have been represented.
