Title: Contemporary 2D and 3D Technologies and E-learning on Applied Geometry and Engineering Graphics
Keywords: E-learning, Applied Geometry and Engineering Graphics, Internet, XML (eXtensible Markup Language), Virtual Reality
Abstract: One of the main problems in the contemporary university education is the organization of education process on an attractive way. Also Internet facilities have not yet been used effectively for the needs of engineering e-learning process and routine engineering works. Our work aims to resolve the problem particularly for the needs of the mechanical engineering specialties and in this paper especially for the course of “Fundamentals of Design and CAD”. With a growing interest in the development of rapid, in-house learning solutions, we look at the range of tools and technologies available to build e-learning solutions. XML (eXtensible Markup Language) has been adopted because it has a lot of possibility for the active documents supporting: it is both human and machine readable, it can be used by different programming language, it allows multimedia representation, multi-lingual usage and etc. ..
