Title: Optimization of the Wagons Sorting Process for Needs of Real-Time Marshalling Yard Management System

Abstract: Nowadays many methods for solving of marshalling yard problem exist. Most of them are not appropriate for use in software for real-time marshalling yard management systems. Optimization method proposed in this paper considers the incoming train composition as vector-row, wherein the vector elements are the different directions. All incoming trains represented in this way form the input matrix. The resulting input matrix transformed into the resulting output matrix arranged in the outgoing directions, which can be a different number of rows from the input. The shortest path method by forming maximum groups used for optimization. The proposed method is suitable for use in real-time marshalling yard management systems
