Title: Sonification – an Alternative Presentation of the Electrocardiogram: A Systematic Literature Review Keywords: ECG sonification; acoustic cardiography; Abstract: This study aims to answer the main question: “What is the state-of-the-art research studies on ECG sonification?”, presenting a systematic literature review (SLR) in 2 databases (Scopus and Pubmed) on English papers (2007-2019). SLR identified 173 articles. Further analytical screening of titles and abstracts selected 22 articles involved into a qualitative synthesis: 5 papers on the transformation of ECG signals into sound; 7 papers on the wireless transmission of auscultatory streams for heart diagnosis; 13 papers on the synchronization between ECG and cardiac auscultation.
