Title: Arc Fault Circuit Interrupturs Keywords: arcing, arc fault circuit interrupter, arc fault, fire safetAbstract: Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters are significant devices in area of electrical fire safety. They are designed to prevent fires by detecting an unintended electrical arc and disconnecting the power supply voltage before the arc starts a fire. These devices are selective so that normal arcs do not cause them to trip. The aim of this paper is to present these new devices, the standard requirements that they have to meet, principle of their operation, types and the area of their application and installation.
