Абстракт: The paper discusses optimization of the geometric parameters on exhaust system of gasoline engine intended for competition. In order to determine the optimal configuration of the exhaust system a complete engine model was developed in simulating software Ricardo Wave. The model comprises: cylinder geometry, geometry of the intake manifold, valves timing and lifts, geometry of exhaust system, combustion model, cylinder heat transfer, etc. By means of that model the engine output power was estimated with different exhaust pipes length and configuration. The analysis of the output power in engine speed interval from 6000 to 9000rpm revealed the optimal length of first and second part of the exhaust system.
