Title: Chemical and electrochemical growth of HydroxyApatite on 3-D machined titanium alloy

Abstract: In this work was studied the influence of pretreatment and the method of hydroxyapatite (HAp) deposition on Ti6Al4V alloy for its potential application as an implants. А comparative analysis of the morphology and the elemental composition of chemically and electrochemically obtained HAp were presented. Free form samples were pretreated chemically in a strong alkaline solution or were anodized in order to increase adhesion between the deposited HAp layer and the substrate. It has been found that the morphology of HAp crystals depends mainly on the method of deposition and insignificantly on the surface pretreatment methods.
