Title: Photovoltaic system for laboratory research – application and efficiency
Keywords: active power, energy efficiency, invertor, photovoltaic laboratory, photovoltaic panels

Abstract: The production of green energy is essential to keeping our planet clean. For this reason, generating electric energy through photovoltaic systems (PVs) is an efficient approach to meeting humanity's energy needs. At the same time, it is an excellent substitute for non-renewable liquid and solid fuels. For these reasons, it is necessary to educate quality professionals who can operate such PV systems. This paper presents a photovoltaic (PV) system designed and implemented to perform laboratory research for the educational process. It is installed on the roof of a transformer post on the territory of the Todor Kableshkov University of Transport - Sofia, Bulgaria. The PV modules are arranged in two strings - one oriented southeast and the other southwest. Real-time data is measured from the installed grid inverter of the system, and full monitoring of the generated electrical power is realized. The data is analyzed and used for the education of students at this university. The objective of this work is to determine and analyze the energy efficiency of this laboratory PV system depending on the location of the PV modules, the seasons of the year, and the daily electricity production, based on the data collected on the generated power.
