Title: Design of System for Particulate Matter Automotive Pollution Measurements Keywords: ESP32, particulate matter, PM emissionAbstract: The paper represents a system for measurement of particulate matters (PM) emitted by the automotive brakes. The system design is based on three PM sensors, which are located above the left and rear front wheels and the third one is used as a reference device, located in front of the vehicle. The measurement system compares the data from the sensors to neglect the particulate matters in the environment. The system design is based on ESP32-C3 module as a communication device and specially designed I2C to UART converter as the PM sensors send the full PM data via UART interface. The obtained results show significant levels of emitted PM particles in the different measurement ranges - 1.0μm, 2.5μm and 10μm. Therefore, the vehicles are considerable source of PM pollutions.
