Abstract: MFA enhances security by combining two or more independent credentials: something you know (password), something you have (security token), and something you are (biometrics). This method significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access, as compromising multiple authentication factors is considerably more challenging for attackers. This paper explores the phenomenon of MFA fatigue, its implications on security, user experience, and how businesses might inadvertently drive customers to competitors.
