Abstract: Optical communication networks use the wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology to transmit simultaneously a lot of data, i.e. video, audio, speech, music etc. across a fibre optic cable channel. The technology DWDM (Dense wavelength-division multiplexing) is an extension of the WDM technology, combining the output from several optical transmitters for information sending across a single fibre optical channel. Therefore, this paper proposes to create and investigate optical network models with ultra-large capacity and with ultra-long haul of audio and video information transmission and receiving using DWDM technology. It is planned the created models to be used in future researches on the assessment of quality and possibilities for its improvement of transmission audio and visual information via DWDM communication networks.
