Title: Comparative Study of Waste Fiber Filter Media for Purification of Petroleum-Contaminated Waters Keywords: nonwovens, oil wastewater, recycled short fibers, textile dust waste, wet method, wool fibersAbstract: The treatment of wastewater contaminated with petroleum products is a significant environmental challenge, particularly in industries such as textiles and petroleum refining. For the first time, textile industry waste, specifically a mixture of recycled short fibers composed of polyamide (PA), polyacrylonitrile (PAN), polyester (P), viscose (VI), polyethylene (PE), and other various fiber residues (V) or PA/PAN/P/VI/PE/V (drawing line waste) and 100% wool dust collected from bag filters in wool textile production, has been investigated as a potential material for the treatment of wastewater contaminated with oil products. The parameters of filter barriers produced using the wet method for nonwoven textiles were analyzed, including mass, thickness, and air permeability. Their adsorption capacity was evaluated after the passage of an aqueous emulsion containing gasoline, naphtha, and oil. References - P.
