Title: A brief overview of automotive driving simulators Keywords: automotive, degree-of-freedom, driving, overview, simulatorAbstract: Driving simulators are often used in automotive sports and for scientific research as a cheap alternative to realworld driving. They are a powerful tool for training of drivers as it is possible to measure the senses and reactions of the drivers in various driving conditions and locations. The driving simulator device provides aural, visual, haptic and in some cases motion cues in order to deliver an immersive experience. This article briefly reviews and compares the different types of driving simulators with respect to their objective, design, and level of complexity. The comparison is made based on selected studies on the subject. References - L. Bruck, B. Haycock, A.
