Abstract: This article presents a FPGA implementation of a combined filter for the simultaneous removal of power line interference and low-frequency drift from ECG signals. The proposed combined filter design is based upon the previously described in [4] model, which is a combination of several filters, and which has zeros at the power line and low-band drift frequencies. A procedure is used which generates a set of filter coefficients, and by means of a performed analytical procedure, the coefficients were converted to a 10-bit value. Synthesized is a structure for direct FPGA implementation. MATLAB and FPGA parallel tests were carried out both with artificial and real ECG signals with a present interference. The results show that there is an observable reduction in the baseline drift and an above -60dB suppression of power line interference.
