Title: Axial-piston pump optimal multivariable PID controller tunning Keywords: Axial-piston pump, optimal, multivariable, PID, tuning Abstract: The aim of the present work is the synthesis and optimal tunning of a PID controller designed to control the displacement volume of an axial-piston pump intended for hydraulic systems with open circulation. The pump is controlled in real-time through a system developed by the authors based on an electro-hydraulic proportional valve (replacing the conventional hydro-mechanical controller) and an industrial controller. The experimental system was initially used to obtain a data set that is used in a system identification procedure to obtain a model. The obtained state space model was used for the synthesis of the PID controller. The optimal tuning of controller parameters is performed using three modern methods: genetic algorithm, simulated annealing and pattern search. The resulting three PID controllers with different settings depending on the used methods are compared in simulation and experimental conditions. References Issue
