Title: Configuration and Optimization of Impedance Protection for Power Transformers
Keywords: Backup protection, Configuration, Impedance protection, Power transformer, Settings

Abstract: Differential protection is often the main technique used in practice to protect power transformers. Installing additional backup protection, like impedance protection, is required to increase the reliability of high-power transformer protection. This paper examines the operating principles, applications, and settings of impedance protections for power transformers. The main goal is to analyse the current practices for configuring this type of protection. In addition, the study explores new methodologies and strategies for setting impedance protections to optimize the protecting of power transformers.
