The environmental benefits of the gas-diesel working cycle, along with the associated organisational challenges, are highlighted. The main focus of the paper is on the design and construction of two test benches, which are described in details. One of the test benches is dedicated to Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) gas fuel, while the other is for Compressed natural gas (CNG) gas fuel. These test benches are used to determine the effects of gas fuels on the power, economic, and environmental characteristics of diesel engines operating in dual-fuel mode.
