Title: Data Protection in the Field of Automated and Connected Vehicles

Abstract: Connected and automated vehicles rely on a set of sensors and cameras as well as on connectivity to function properly and safely. On the other hand, these technologies gather large amounts of personal data. The present article analyzes the legal issues related to processing of such data, its vulnerability to cyberattacks, and the access of regulatory and law enforcement bodies to the data. A brief study of the current legislation is offered and conclusions and proposals on the regulation are made.
