Title: Heat transfer through protective face masks and respirators Keywords: Abstract: The paper presents results from the investigation of heat transfer through six types of face masks and respirators used for protection against particulate matter (PM) and virus transmission. The masks/respirators were studied in terms of the number of layers, thickness, mass per unit area (weight) and bulk density. The heat flow through the masks was measured in two directions: from the human face to the environment (In-Out) and from the environment to the face (Out-In). The results obtained were presented in the function of the samples' thickness, mass per unit area and bulk density.
