Title: ABILITY TO APPROXIMATE THE SPECTRAL DENSITY OF A COMPLEX SIGNAL BY THE SPECTRUM OF A SIMPLE RADAR SIGNAL

Abstract: The possibility of using ultra-broadband signals in trans-barrier and subsurface radar was considered. The purpose of the development is to analyze the possibilities for describing complex radar signals by describing much simpler approximate signals, which, in turn, would lead to a significant simplification of the solution to the task - finding the main parameters of the reflected signal. In the specific case, it is proposed to use a signal with linear frequency modulation - (LFM) as a model of a complex signal. In the development process, the errors allowed in the approximation of the ultra-wideband reflected signal with linear frequency modulation (LFM) by an echo signal with a rectangular spectrum, for different parameters of the propagation medium and different bandwidth coefficients have been calculated.
