Title: Possibilities of Obtaining Electricity from Biomass Keywords: biomass energy, Biomass power plant, renewable energy from plants, RESAbstract: Possibilities of generating electricity from biomass (as a renewable energy source - RES), are the object of the present study. The research is based on the biomass, which is typical for Bulgaria. It is mainly waste wood from wood processing enterprises and forestry farms. It has an inhomogeneous composition and comes from different sources. This makes it very difficult and almost impossible to analytically determine the main parameters of this type of fuel. Therefore, a passive experiment has been carried out for a certain lower calorific value of the fuel. This is the main parameter, determining the technology for waste wood use for energy needs. Analysis of the possibilities for producing electricity and heat from this energy carrier has been made on the basis of the obtained results. The advantages of using this type of renewable energy source have been presented. References - R. Martinez-Perez, F.E. Pedraza-Bucio, R. Orihuela-Equihua, P. Lopez-Albarran, J. G.
