Title: Complex Assessment of the Efficiency of the Neutral Grounding Modes in the Distribution Networks
Keywords: generalized performance indicator, neutral grounding, power distribution network

Abstract: The paper proposes an assessment of the efficiency of different ways of grounding the neutral in distribution networks by introducing a generalized indicator. The three ways of grounding the neutral in distribution networks have been considered: isolated neutral; grounded through an arc suppression reactor and grounded through an active resistance. Three factors, influencing on the efficiency of the neutral grounding have been chosen: continuity of the electricity supply to the consumers; current magnitude of a single phase-to-ground fault; multiplicity of maximum overvoltages. The assessment of the most influencing factor on the generalized performance indicator for the different ways of grounding the neutral has been made by applying the mathematical game theory. The obtained results have been analyzed and conclusions, useful for the operation of distribution electrical networks, have been drawn.
