Title: LED Retrofitting for Fluorescent Troffers with Minimum Enviromental Impact - Case Study Keywords: fluorescent housing reuse, LED luminaires, sustainable lighting Abstract: The paper presents a case study on the possibilities for direct use of luminaire housing and optical system of fluorescent troffers for development of new LED luminaires. The use of existing materials and minimum addition of components will not only lead to energy savings but will also contribute to a great extent to cost savings and will increase the sustainability of lighting systems. The idea here is to use LED elements, not retrofit lamps, which gives greater flexibility and opportunity for modelling of the light distribution of the new fixtures. References
