Title: Illuminance Meters-Influence of the Battery Load on the Readings-Case Study
Keywords: illuminance meters tests and calibration, influence of battery level on readings

Abstract: The paper presents a detailed experimental study on the influence of the battery load of portable illuminance meters on their readings. Five different types of illuminance meters are tested at different voltage levels, including full battery 9 V and when the low battery sigh appears at the device's screen (this happens at different voltage levels-from 6V, down to 3V). Ten samples from each type of illuminance meter considered are tested and their illuminance readings are taken. The results obtained are representative and give information about the difference of the readings and the mistake made by people, using devices with low batteries for illuminance measurements.
