One of them is the operation of the generator under unsymmetrical load, which, although inevitable, creates a number of problems both for the generator and for the consumers connected to it. From the various methods for studying an unsymmetrically loaded synchronous generator, an analysis based on the finite element method is selected in this paper. Three different modes of unsymmetrical loading are investigated and compared with those of a symmetrically loaded synchronous generator. The obtained results are evaluated and compared based on the harmonic composition of electromotive force and the amplitude of the individual harmonics.
