Title: Elastic Analysis for Homogeneously Graded Rotating Disks with Linearly-Varying Thicknesses Keywords: finite element method (FEM), high-speed rotating disks, strength analysis, uniform stress distribution, variable thicknessesAbstract: This study presents the elastic stress analysis of a high-speed rotating disks made of homogeneously graded material with linear-variable thickness. The radial and tangential stress distributions and displacements of the rotating disks are investigated for linearly varying thicknesses in the radial direction by means of different slope of the line that forms the profile of the disk. The main goal of this research is to study the effect of mechanical load on the strength of the disk with linear-varying profile by using analytical solution and finite element method. The inner and outer surfaces of rotating disk are subjected to different pressures simultaneously. To verify the reliability of the results, the appropriate comparisons with the exact analytical solution for homogeneous graded disk with uniform thickness are made at the same angular velocity and boundary loads. Finally, the lowest radial stress and a uniform distribution of tangential stress along the radius of the rotating disc for the corresponding line inclination are obtained. References - S. P.
