Abstract: In this current research development, the authors propose an approach to study the mechanism of the occurrence of a traffic accident involving cargo vehicles. Data from the cargo vehicles' digital tachographs were used to determine the velocity of movement of the vehicles involved and the location of the impact. The presented study uses data from a real traffic accident, and based on the tachographic data, the main parameters were studied: road, velocity and time.
